We bought this machine to create space as we only have a closet not a room. It is upright and tall and leaves ample space that our last sided by sided did not. I like the quick was feature as it cuts washing time in half and is perfectly suitable for lightly soiled loads.
The dryer is not as effective as I thought. Sheets are dried quickly but towels and jeans may take up to 2 hours. Also, there is a little hiccup with the dryer. There is a gap between the spinning drum and the door which open snags the dyer sheets and/or clothes. Dryer sheets always get stuck there. Also a sheet got stuck there and then it ended up ripping it as it completed drying. Overall, I am happy with the product but my dissastisfaction is increasing since the ripped sheet and the lengthy dry time.

I installed it the other day and I am so disappointed. Doesn't clean my clothes because it doesn't even cover them with water. If Whirlpool is trying to safe water it's not working very good because the first load I did I had to wash it 4 times. The machine is worthless.

The water level is not as the manual says. I first tried normal cycle. The water level is minimum and many clothes were not soaked. I tried bulky, as manual advised, but the water level is still minimum. I tried casual and colors cycles, but water level is still minimum. So I had to minimize the load. But suddenly water level became full after several washes. This time, even very small load, the water level comes the top. I tried normal, casual, and dedicates this time, in either case, water level in perfectly full. Now, spin does not work. Water drips after a cycles done. The water level is the same when I use a different cycles.
Consequently, I must run dryers several times, for over four hours, to dry one usual load. I found in very dry of normal dry cycle, the dryer works only 40 minutes. I am afraid the moisture sensor does not work well.

I bought this a month ago and it's nothing but a headache. I am not happy at all because I'm unable to dry clothes in an hour or less. It takes ALL DAY to get through two loads because of the low-performing dryer. The dryer takes several cycles to dry clothing. Whether I use the auto dry setting or the timed dry setting, I have to dry one load at least four times before it's actually dry. Totally unacceptable!!! And it's brand new!

Bought this to replace a 4 year old GE laundry center which was a piece of junk. GE replaced the entire unit once and after the two expensive service calls we decided to replace it with the Whirlpool unit on the recommendation of our repair people. In comparison to the GE the new unit drys more slowly using at least 1&1/2 " Very Dry" cycle to do the job. The washer is has more capacity than the GE and easily swallowed a king size comforter. You must use a mesh garment bag for lingerie items and thin socks or they will end up very tangled and perhaps wedged under the agitator. The controls are at the top of the unit so if you are short you might need a stool to reach them. Also the washer instructions are located under the washer lid which only opens to about a 45 degree angle so are almost impossible to read. Of course the instructions are in the unit's guide booklet so not really a problem.

We bought this washer/dryer unit a couple of months ago. It washes beautifully - it is almost like magic. The dryer works, but often struggles to dry mixed loads completely; any towels and other heavy cotton items almost always need a second time in the dryer.

I believe this was one of my best purchases in a long time: both washer and drier are quiet, efficient and can handle anything ( from delicate items to quilts and blankets). It cleans everything! Download and read the manual before panicking about too little water, use the heavy loads feature. There are not enough stars on this rating scale to express how pleased I am with this purchase. A plus , buy it from Costco and you get a 2 years factory warranty and the best price there is.

The delivery guys unboxed it in my front yard and we immediately noticed it already was scratched and dented on the dryer door! I pd $1700 total for a scratch and dent item! Hubby called Whirlpool and they said they'd make it right but no response since! I do not recommend this brand. Next time I'm going with GE!

We have this combo machine in our apartment and it's the bane of my existence. There is a gap under the lint trap in the dryer that catches clothing when running and completely ruins whatever that may be. It's gotten to the point where I am hang drying anything of value. They should be including garment bags with the machines - if you put anything in there without one it's doomed.
It's not uncommon either. You may think I am overloading it, i'm not. I had five (yes, five) cloth napkins in the dryer and lo and behold one was caught under the lint trap and ruined when the cycle completed.
It's a horrible design flaw and i'm amazed Whirlpool is still selling these machines. It's even more amazing that people are buying this thing. I don't get how this didn't come up when testing the product. Look at the reviews for similar products, same issue. There are more comments here that speak to the same issue.

I bought this a month ago. I like the large wash capacity. I am short and the controls are high. I can reach but have a hard time reading the control labels. The appliance is very attractive-important to me because it is in my kitchen. I have only one issue- the dryer door is very difficult to open. Washing machine is simple, basic and washes really big loads. It does a really good job cleaning laundry. The dryer however does not dry my laundry like I would like. Given that it maybe an issue with my dryer vent...sometimes I need to run the dryer two or three times to get things completely dry so I only put in small amounts of laundry in at a time.

I bought this a month ago and I might have made a mistake. The Washer / Dryer combo has great looks and seems to function as described. I think it important to share the following concerns: The washer lid is very heavy and held open by a magnet. You must hold it with one hand as you close it. If you let go, make sure your hands are clear of the opening or you will experience the pain of it falling on you. Please be aware that both the water level and the drying time are automatic. We are experimenting on how to control this attribute better. We now keep the instruction book handy because the Washer / Dryer instructions are underneath the washer lid. You have to get on your knees to read them (see photo). Crazy.It would be nice to have a dryer alarm to alert you for no-iron clothes.

Just bought and spent hours installing. First load took 5 minutes in load sensing then gave up and drained half the tub before being dead. Would not even work for one load. The number they gave to call about damages will not answer or return your call. Very bad customer support.

Machine requires learning curve. Not at all like the one it replaced. It assumes you've never washed clothes before. Washer is really loud, especially when spinning. Can't watch tv with it going. Also the tub is way too deep for the average person. I am 5'4" and can just barely get items off the very bottom. Can't imagine a shorter person using it. After a visit from an ASI technician who fixed the problem of not being able to open the dryer door and him offering me some pointers (that are not in the manual) I am getting along with it better.

love the space saving feature in laundry room ! delivery was a little slow-3 weeks to Lowes store. having to get used to all the different features concerning water levels, ect. was surprised that washed and dried a 9'x12' drop cloth without any problems. spin cycle is a little loud with regular wash but nothing to complain about. height on top dials of dryer, a little high but not a big concern. only drawback is the door opening and closing dryer is a little hard to open/close (that's the reason for 4 stars) all in all, very happy with this combo. hope it will stand the test of time of my 25 year old Whirlpool.
